Hello,

I have been using Downloader for many years now and last week decided to upgrade to Downloader Pro (v1.70). It's great!

However on my Libretto running Windows98SE I receive Kernel errors when closing the application!

Any suggestions?

Sorry, I don't know what is causing this. I haven't received any other reports of this from other users and have never seen it happen on my Win98SE test system.
Windows 98SE is getting a bit old now and so it might be worth considering upgrading to Windows XP.

Upgrade to XP; I would, if I could... This Libretto is an old 266mhz laptop the size of a VHS-tape.

I'm also running WindowsME on it, will test it on that. I was trying to build a lean-and-mean Windows multiboot that would only run Downloader Pro, to act as my image storage device.

Would it help if I would post the exact message I receive? It doesn't mean a lot to me, just some numbers. I have reinstalled Windows98, but still have the issue. Very annoying.

Anyway thanks for the swift reply so far.

Regards,
Wouter

Have now tried v1.8 on Win98SE, still kernel errors when closing it. However WinME that is running on the same machine has no problems at all.

What about Win95? Has Downloader Pro been tested with that?

Very annoying that the single application I want to run on this OS is not working correctly!

Sorry I haven't tested on Windows 95 for several years now and I think it is unlikely it will run. The documentation for several of the libraries used by DLPro says that they are only compatible with Windows 98SE onwards.
Why can't you use WinME if DLPro is ok on that PC when it's running WinME?

You're right, installer refuses to install on Win95. Now on WinME (which is of course slightly heavier) and it runs fine. I'll have to stick to that than.
