How does Downloader Pro determine whether a file has already been
downloaded? Here is my problem:

My digital camera connects to my PC via USB camera dock and through
a software driver represents the onboard SD card as E:\PICTURE CARD\DCIM

When I remove the SD card from the camera and read it through a tiny
handheld USB key card reader, the files are represented as E:\DCIM

I have Downloader Pro configured to save the downloaded files with a
name that is based entirely on the date/timestamp of the image file.

If I download some images via the camera dock, and then later download
the the same SD card via the USB card reader, Downloader Pro reports
all image files as new.

So it appears that Downloader Pro is maintaining a list of all downloaded
files, and keeping track of the original source directory. Since my card
reader has a different directory structure it looks like Downloader Pro
is classifying all the image files as new, even though they have the
exact same *.JPG names, file sizes, and target download name.

Downloader Pro is an awesome tool. I am just trying to understand how it
works so I can use it with my laptop (via USB key card reader) and my
regular PC (via USB camera dock).

Thanks For Any Help,

Bob M

DLPro doesn't keep a list of previously downloaded files. What it does is generates the download pathname and checks to see if a file of that name already exists. If no file exists the image status is set to "New file". If it does exist and is the same size and has the same timestamp it is marked as "Downloaded". "Duplicate" is shown if more than one copy of the same file (name, size and timestamp) is found on the source drive/memory card.
