I have searched the forums and understand that currently Downloader Pro does not work with Canon's latest camera since Canon have moved away from using their own API in favour of PTP. I have used BreezeBrowser and Downloader for many years and so it came as a bit of a shock when I found there was no Downloader solution for my new IXUS 750.
What I have been unable to determine from Chris's responses is if there is a definate plan to support the new cameras via PTP or not. One thread seemed to say no, and another appeared non commital.
Could we have a definative answer?
I am happy to wait and purchase Downloader Pro if it is going to support PTP but will look to other solutions if it will not. If there is a plan to support PTP then are there any timescales when this might be available or is it too early to say. A rough idea would be fine.
