Future of lens distortion function?

Hello to all BBPro fellows,

as a frequent user of the lens distortion correction function I would like to know about the future of this function.

Thomas Niemann has recently changed the format of the lens database from plain text to binary, so it is no longer compatible with at least the current version of BBPro. Just curious what we can expect here in the future.

I need to discuss this with Thomas Niemann, but the short answer is that BBPro will continue to support lens distortion correction and will be able to read new PTLens data.
