When I convert an RGB image to CMYK, it looks like crap in BB (much darker, muddy, contrast all wrong). BUT, when I open that same crap image up in Photoshop, it looks good again. What gives ?? I have tried changing all of the color management settings in BB and there is no change in the thumbnails or full size preview.

This is also the case when I drop a CMYK image into PageMaker - this CMYK image looks like crap, but the RGB image looks good.

I realize RGB is for monitor viewing and CMYK is for offset printing but is there a way to get BB and other programs (like PageMaker) to show these CMYK image like they are supposed to look ?

I attached a RGB and CMYK of same image...

(Now the CMYK jpg wont even display on the web here.... Hmmm?) I dont have a clue why... the link is correct. It just wont show here.

Thanks

I suspect it is to do with color management. BBPro doesn't support CMYK other than displaying CMYK images by converting them to RGB. It isn't able to color manage CMYK images because this needs to be done in the CMYK colorspace before converting to RGB for display.

Most high end image editors support CMYK but apps like web browsers probably don't.
