Chris,
I wonder if you could comment on how you like using vBulletin (or any discussion forum software) vs using Yahoo groups? I've tried to get a couple of other groups to which I belong to change from Yahoo groups to a discussion forum like this. The sticking point seems to be the automatic email notification of every new message provided by Yahoo, which is not available in most of the forum software.
Thanks

You are asking Chris, but as a user, I prefer Yahoo Groups wholeheartedly because I can get the discussions in my email without having to go to a website. Therefore, I can read the messages when I am offline, on a plane, on the bus, etc.
Just my 2 cents.

I will second that, I miss catching up by reading the whole message where I don't have a online connection.

Although yahoo is easier to get all the threads in e-mail, I find this way much easier to read and much easier to search - and you can subscride to threads if there is a specific 'hot' thread you care about - log on and do new posts to catch up ...
Since one of the side benefits for having a forum like this for a software company is having feedback and problems be easily available to potential purchasers of the software - I vote for this way ;)
Yahoo makes perfect sense for clubs and groups where nobody should be responsible to host the group.

The forums work nicely for separating topics and decreasing my daily e-mail. The big issue is will Chris respond to each issue as he used to. In fact, Chris has been unusually quiet in the past few weeks. I know he went to PMA, but hasn't that been over for more than a week?

Sorry I haven't been posting lately but I was at PMA (Orlando, FL) last week and Focus on Imaging (Birmingham, UK) this week.
After reading the Yahoo Groups terms and conditions last December I realised that I can't use it for the forum as only allows non-commercial use.

Thank goodness for that, I would hate the forum to go back to Yahoo; this system is far better.
None of those ridiculous adverts for a start.
Best regards,
Graham.
