Can you lock the iris during remote capture? That is-- can the iris remain motionless between takes?

Normally between takes, the iris actually opens then closes to it's original position. But it's not EXACTLY the same position -- it's close -- but not exact and we see flickering because of this when shooting sequences.

We can lock FOCUS and IRIS from the camera by not fully releasing the shutter button:

1. Press shutter button half-way DOWN => This happens: (1) Camera adjusts focus (2) iris physically moves and exposure is set
2. Press shutter button all-way DOWN => This happens: Photo is taken
3. RELEASE shutter button half-way UP => This happens: (1) focus is locked (2) iris is physically locked [you can shine a light in lens or move object and focus won't change, iris won't move]
4. Press shutter button all-way DOWN => This happens: Photo is taken
5. (Steps 3 and 4 are repeated to shoot sequences. Focus is locked, iris is physically locked)

Using PSremote, we can lock the FOCUS but can not physically lock the iris.

Can the software mimic step 3 above where the shutter button is not fully released?

I'm sorry I don't think it is possible to lock the iris. The Canon libraries have a function to lock the AF but there isn't anything for controlling the iris other than setting the Av value. Does setting the camera to manual exposure mode help?
