View Full Version : DLP Trying to scan my whole hard drive

I recently shuffled around my drive letters. I now have a hard drive at the drive letter where my card reader used to be.
When I start DLP (version 1.7) it prompts me for the IPTC data then starts scanning for files... but the whole hard drive instead of a memory card. Have to kill it from task manager.
How can I reset DLP's config to NOT read this drive (F:). I've not found a registry key or config file anywhere.
I haven't tried un/re installing yet.

I'm afraid you're in the wrong forum. Perhaps Chris will allow this one reply.
Look for 'Image Source' under the General tab of Preferences. If you have the third radio button checked and have specified a set of drive letters which includes F:, that could be the problem.
If that's not it, make sure that Windows Autoplay is not enabled on any of your fixed drives. For XP, this can be done in Tweak UI, but I understand that things work a bit differently in Vista.
As a general rule, I like to keep the drive letters for my fixed drives, my optical drives, the partitions on my USB drive and the card reader 'drives' well separated, and use the Windows Disk Manager to assign drive letters for all except the card readers.
Hope this helps.

Ooops. Yeah i mis-clicked the BBP list. Feel free to move this to DLP list or I'll repost.
The problem is i can't get to the preferences. I get the modal IPTC dialog and it doesn't matter if i OK, Cancel or X. DLP starts scanning and all i can do is wait it out or kill it. Windows XP.

The settings are stored in the registry at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BreezeSystems\Downloade r\201
The card reader drive letter is stored in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BreezeSystems\Downloade r\201\CardreaderDriveLetter
If DLPro is setup to use AutoPlay you could run it by inserting a memory card in your card reader and when DLPro is launched it will only scan that drive.
