I currently have a Canon 10D and a 20D and so does my "other half". We use DL Pro to but downloads into "Gary" and "Ros" directories by using the camera serial numbers which saves literally hours of work after a holiday.

Is this likely to work for the 40D without an upgrade? Our 40Ds will be here very soon.

If not what is the chance of a beta version by next Friday when we are off on a fortnight's holiday? (or is there another way to achieve the same thing

Thanks

Gary

Ok - I have the camera now and it works just fine as is :)

Because it does not do RAW conversions, DL Pro is a lot less sensitive to changes in file formats than BB Pro; the main problem area is manufacturer-specific metadata. As you use the camera serial number (which, I believe, only Canon records in metadata), this could in theory be an issue for you.

In practice, judging by what Chris says about the 40D here (http://www.breezesys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2382&page=2), I'd guess that you can use DL Pro normally with 40D files. Enjoy!

Downloader Pro v2.0.3 works fine with the new Canon EOS 40D.
I plan to release a minor update which includes detailed shooting data for the 40D (for people who use the option to save a text file showing the EXIF shooting data). The other change is to correct the setting of the camera clock during DST (Canon cameras are inconsistent as to whether the libraries adjust for DST or not when setting and reading the camera's clock and so I have to test each new model and adjust the time if required).

Thanks Chris!

DL Pro will save us hours when we get back from our holidays. It was an absolute pain to have to sort images from 6 bodies into his and hers directories before I found it....
