David, Thank you for prompt replies to previous posts.
However, a previous thread needs to be clarified. The latest version of DLP was downloaded and installed on a new hard drive I installed.
When you plug the camera into a reader or connect a Canon Pro 1 to the computer using the USB port cable, a screen appears that allows the user to select a program to use for the download. DLP does not appear on the list. Also, DLP does not appear in the list when following the instructions in section 1.2.8 of the DLP manual.
What needs to be done create an entry for DLP?

I don't know whether DL Pro will work with a direct camera USB connection to your camera (perhaps Chris can advise). You could try it; connect the camera, close the Autoplay window that pops up, start DL Pro, and (assuming it doesn't find the camera on its own) set the source option (on the General tab) to 'Auto-detect camera or card reader at startup'. DL Pro should then list or display the images in the camera.

If this works, you can then 'register' DL Pro for camera events using the menu command Events|Register for camera events. DL Pro should then appear as an option in your Autoplay list when you connect the camera.

As I explained, there's a significant probability that this will not work with a direct camera connection, in which case you're back to using a card reader (which I think is the better option in any case). In that event, you do pretty much the same when connecting the card reader as when connecting the camera. This time DL Pro should definitely find the images on your card. At that point, use the menu command 'Events|Register for Autoplay events'. DL Pro will then appear on the list of applications when you next connect the reader/card.

Hope this gets you going.

DLPro can't download directly from a Pro1 because it only supports PTP for downloading unlike older PowerShot models that support downloading using Canon's SDK. I'm planning to add PTP support in a future release of DLPro (aiming to release a beta version next month).

To use Windows AutoPlay when the camera is connected you need to run DLPro and select Events->Register for AutoPlay events. Next time you connect the camera DLPro should be listed in the AutoPlay dialog displayed by Windows. If Windows doesn't display the dialog you need to right click on the camera in Windows Explorer, select Properties and click on the Events tab to check the settings.
