I have v2.0.3 of Downloader Pro, using Vista 64 bit. When I insert my card into my reader, I get several options to download file, but DL Pro is not one of them. What is the best way to get this added to the list?
Thanks!

I am assuming that the statement on the Breeze website that
Downloader Pro v2.0.3 and later will run on Windows Vista without any problems.also applies to Vista 64. If so, what you need to do is Register DL Pro for Autoplay events: details are in the DL Pro Help file (search on 'Autoplay') and in this recent thread (http://www.breezesys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2425).
Hope this helps.

I have done the following (without success):
1. Ran DL PRo as admin, then registered the program for Camera Events
2. Reviewed the control panel options for AutoPlay
3. looked in the properties for anything that appears as the AutoRun options
I still get only these options for AutoPlay:
1. Import pictures using Windows
2. View pictures using Windows
3. View pictures using Windows Media Center
4. Open folder to view files
5. Readyboost
I cannot seem to find DL Pro on any setup screen.
Any ideas?

Camera events and Autoplay events are not the same. Register DL Pro for Autoplay events...

How? It hasn't been obvious to me...though it is probably in front of my face!
thx

How?
1. Open DL Pro
2. From the Menu, Select Events|Register for Autoplay events
... which, as Gary says, is not the same selection as registering for Camera events.
Hope this works.

Hmmm...My version has two options in the Events menu:
1. Register for camera events
2. Unregister for camera events
I simply don't have the option Events|Register for Autoplay events, even when I run as administrator.
Using Downloader Pro 2.0.3.

Windows AutoPlay works differently on Windows Vista and Windows XP. When you install DLPro it automatically registers itself for card reader autoplay events and should appear on the list the Windows displays when a memory card is inserted. On Windows XP DLPro also has options to register/unregister for card reader autoplay events. This isn't available on Vista because you need to have administrator privileges to make these changes. Please could you try re-installing DLPro when logged in as adminstrator privileges (or download the dlpro203.exe setup file then right click on it and select "Run as administrator").

Chris,
I uninstalled DL Pro, then reinstalled it using "run as administrator" on the setup file. No change. I then uninstalled it again, and logged in as administrator and tried the same. It installs fine, but when Autoplay launches only the Windows programs are available to choose from.
I love this program (been using it for a couple years in XP), but this new Vista is very frustrating...
Any ideas would be appreciated!

To avoid getting into another issue entirely, I shall assume that Microsoft's agreement that Vista can be downgraded to XP, which has recently been extended for a further few months, is of no interest to you.
Autoplay is a mess in XP, and it seems to be a mess in Vista as well. I don't suppose that it is any easier to figure out the Registry settings for Autoplay in Vista than it is in XP. In these circumstances, I'd be inclined to do a full uninstall of DL Pro, and then, if you can revert to a System Restore point prior to the original DL Pro installation.
If that is not possible (because the Restore point is unavailable or because using it would do too much damage), I would try to find an Autoplay fixing utility which is Vista-compatible. Post #6 in this thread (http://www.breezesys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2289) reports that such a program works in Vista, though it is listed on the website as being for XP. Likewise, I am unsure whether Microsoft's own utility (Autofix.exe), which is also downloadable, works in Vista. All you can do is try them, but do set a System Restore point first, so that you can undo any damage.
I hope this helps.

I suspect the problem is AutoPlay on Vista 64 is different from Vista 32 and XP is different again. DLPro AutoPlay works fine on Vista 32. I haven't tried it on Vista 64 yet - all my 64-bit PCs are tied up doing other things at the moment (and running XP).

Has anyone had any luck making this work?

I'm looking into the problem. The installation program should write the necessary values to the Windows registry when DLPro is installed but for some reason this isn't working on Vista 64.
You can add the settings manually by downloading this file: http://www.breezesys.com/downloads/dlpro_autoplay.zip
Unzip the file and then double click on the dlpro_autoplay.reg file.

Chris,
Might that file help with Vista 32-bit? I install DL Pro on a Dell under Vista Home Premium and when I place a card in the card reader I don't even get a pop-up asking me what to do. Running DL Pro manually works fine. I'm using 2.03...
As I recall DL Pro is listed in the possible choices, it's just that nothing happens automatically.

Just to be sure, did you register DL Pro for card reader events (DL Pro menu, Events|Register for card reader events)? Once DL Pro is on the list, you can use the Autoplay tab of the drive's property sheet to make it come up automatically.

David,
As I recall, DL Pro under Vista doesn't have a register for autoplay - it's supposed to happen when it's installed.
I've been using DL Pro for 2.5 years, maybe more, and I'm familiar with it's foibles, but I don't understand why it doesn't open automatically on my Vista machine. It's almost as if "Open" is the default on those drives, not Autoplay.
I just checked, DL Pro is registered because it's an option in Control Panel, Autoplay. I've set picture disks to "Ask me every time". Some types of disks are set to "Select a Default", which I would think would act the same.

Chris,
This program worked perfectly, thanks for putting the fix together. The only trick folks might want to know about is you have to login as the administrator in order to write the registry files.

It's likely to be a problem with Windows Vista or your card reader if nothing at all happens when you insert a memory card in the card reader. AutoPlay relies on Windows detecting the card reader event and launching the appropriate app or dialog asking you what you want to do.

That's strange. Does Vista 64 display the DLPro icon correctly on your dektop? If so, I don't know why the AutoPlay dialog isn't showing it.

Yes, it shows the icon correctly.

I have the same issue. I run this from my Most Recent programs function and the auto-run. The desktop/programs function shows the icon, but the auto-run does not. Minor issue since it actually works, but could throw folks off if they aren't as experienced.
