Are any cameras controllable from the computer other than the Powershots? I'm finding the Powershots too slow between pictures for my purposes.

Sorry if it's untasteful to ask this question on this forum, please delete if it is.

Canon EOS cameras can also be controlled from the computer. The 20D and the new 350D/Rebel XT both have USB 2.0 interfaces and are much faster at taking pictures and downloading them than the PowerShot cameras. It's possible that new PowerShot models will have faster USB 2.0 interfaces (I don't have any inside info on this, but it seems likely).

DSLR Remote Pro has beta support for the 20D and I will be getting a 350D next week and plan to support it also.

Thanks for the info.

And FYI, with my setup, taking pictures at medium quality, the pics xfer really quickly even on a USB 1.1 interface. The big lag between shots comes from the flash recharging. If I turn the flash off, lightening fast.

With a G series powershot camera you can use an external flash and then flash recharging wont' be an issue.

The delay with a G series camera is around 2 seconds from shot to download.
