SX110IS as photo booth cam?

Any thoughts anyone? USB 2.0 so fast tranfer, and not a DSLR so no mirror life issues or live view delays? Good resolution, high ISO - have I missed anything? This is potentially for a (semi) commercial booth - so its not really about saving £50/ $50 over something else- I'm looking for the best solution, preferably using a current model camera.

It's high ISO performance isn't as good as a DSLR. The smaller sensor on a compact camera gives a better depth of field for a given aperture than a DSLR and so you can probably use a lower ISO setting.

The two AA batteries don't last very long and so you would probably need to use an external power adaptor to run it for a whole evening.

The live view is only 320x240 pixels which is a bit small for a photobooth. You can scale it up to fill the screen but it can look a bit pixellated. The live view on a DSLR is much larger.

I use the SX110is and love it, bought a plug from ebay its wonderful.

I wanted to be able to use flash in our booths, so I chose the Canon S5. We only operate our booths with this camera. I love it, and I don't have to use my DSLR with it.

Compared to a DSLR, the digital noise is worse. Since the photos weren't meant to be printed as 8 x 10s, the noise is negligible. On the other hand, focusing issues are never a problem. The S5 always nails the focus, as opposed to a DSLR which I had to set the focus manually ahead of time.
