I have 3 old 10D and would love to get some use from them (2 are new in box)
The 40Dworks fine and the live view feature is great.

DSLR Remote Pro doesn't recognize the camera AND the 10D Remote v1.1 isn't working either.

If I can get away with using an obsolete 10D as the main / backup camera at a photobooth it will make sense dollarwise.

Do I need a special activation code / procedure for the 10D software to connect with the camera.

Thanks,

Eddie

I'm using xp pro service pack 3 4 gb memory 3.0g pentium 4 processor desktop.
I am using the trial version at day 13.

You need to install the Canon drivers for the 10D before it can be controlled from a PC. You can download drivers for Windows XP and older operating systems from Canon's website: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=DownloadIndexAct
Canon haven't released any Vista drivers for the 10D and so it can't be used on Vista.
Obviously you won't get live view with the 10D and it only has USB 1.1 which means it will take much longer to download the images than than the 40D.
