View Full Version : Back to back shots taken..........

I have the time between shots set at 12 seconds. But several times during an event the camera will take another pic while it is previewing the picture. It will do this sometimes after the 1, 2nd, or 3rd shot, there's no rhyme or reason to it. It's embarrassing telling people "oh it sometimes takes a candid shot" when it's the bride and groom in there and they aren't happy about it. Then they do another session to make up for it....and it does it again.

I'm using a G10, plugged directly into the laptop usb port using a brand new usb 2.0 cable. Latest version of PSRemote.

Please help.

Thank you!

A couple people have reported having similar problems and I've tried to reproduce it on my system without success. Can you reproduce it consistently on your system? Is it possible that the users are doing something like pressing other keys on the keyboard or repeadly pressing the start button which might trigger the problem in some way?

I've taken a careful look at the source code for PSRemote and I think I've found a race condition which could cause the taking of back to back photos in photobooth mode. Please could you try this development version and let me know whether it fixes the problem on your system:

This build also fixes the problem starting a B&W photobooth sequence by left clicking in the bottom left of the window when using a touchscreen.

I cannot reproduce it. It is completely random. I'll reboot the laptop and camera and software, but same issue.

I'll download that version. I have an event Friday evening (west coast, USA). Can I use this version for the entire evening?

Thanks.

Yes, it should be fine to use for an event, but please try it out first just in case there are any problems.

Chris,

We did 2 events over the weekend and the software did NOT shoot any "back to back" shots! So far so good.

Do I need to register this version with you?

Thanks for your help.

Great, it sounds as though the development version has fixed the problem. I will release an update when I get time.
In the meantime you can use your existing registration code with the development version provided it was purchased within the last year.
