I saw a really cool photo booth company that can do the 2x3 layout on a 4x6 print and have one of the columns be color and the second be b&w. My clients would LOVE this option!

That would be sort of interesting actually. I've never really thought of that before.

Here's the example I was referring to. If anyone else is really interested in this feature, please voice your support :)

By the way, the ability to put a photo code on the print for removal requests and reprints would be great too.

Anyone have an idea what software this company is using?

If I'm not mistaken, they had their own software created. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...but I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

The captions option in the photobooth settings dialog allows you to add up to two captions to the image. These can use tokens for the date, time, comment etc. For example you could have one caption print the date and time and the other print the password for the event which you enter in the comment field in the main window before entering photobooth mode.

Creating a custom version of the app which displays the second column in B&W would be relatively easy. Finding a way to make this an option in the standard version of the app so that it fits well with the other options would be more difficult.
