Hi Chris, when selecting View/Focus Point on DSLR Remote Pro 1.7.5, the focus points are not disposed as the ones from Canon T1i.

Still talking about AF, as a suggestion, when we mouse over "Shutter Release button: OFF", it would blink the AF point on the screen and also it would be cool if it would be possible to click on the AF point on the screen and it changes the camera AF point selection.

Cheers,
Penguin.

The correct focus points are displayed with the 500D which is the European version of the T1i. Could you send me a JPEG from a T1i image which DSLR Remote Pro displays incorrectly?

Unfortunately Canon don't provide a way to set focus points from a PC. You used to be able to do it with older cameras like the D30, D60, 10D and 20D but when Canon brought out the new style SDK this was no longer available.

Hey Chris, here goes the screenshot of the Focus Point from Canon T1i. As you can check on the left side, these are the original T1i AF points (how they are on the camera) and on the right side is how DSLR Remote Pro is showing them (wrong way) and also DSLR Remote Pro isn't showing the ACTIVE (RED) point. In this sample the AF point as the centered one as you can check on the left side (square marked in red).

If you need some raw file to get these positions or other, just let me know.

Cheers.

I can only test this directly using the Canon EOS 500D which is the European version of the Rebel T1i. If I take a few raw shots using the 500D and copy a T1i raw into the same folder and use the prev image button to display it in DSLR Remote Pro the focus points are displayed correctly.
Please can you check that you're using the latest version, DSLR Remote Pro v1.7.6. If you are using the latest version and are still having problems please send me a small JPEG shot from the camera so that I can test it on my system.

Sure Chris. Well Chris, as I said in the first post, I'm using the DSLR Remote Pro 1.7.5, so it isn't the latest one. I'm not sure, but I think I don't get to install the 1.7.6 because this version is for customers who bought DSLR Remote Pro for Windows after 5th August 2008 and mine was registered on 16 July 2008. Unless you've some different link were I can download and install it or you provide a new registration code for it. ;0)

Chirs, just to update you, I downloaded the 1.7.6 and the AF points on T1i seems to be working ok. I mean, i didn't get to view the real shot because it shows the upgrade message, but the AF points over this message shows ok and the red AF point selected too, but the other issue on the other thread regarding the not in focus small/mormal size/quality remains in this version.
