As a DSLR user, what can you suggest as the best setting for photobooth shooting? Manual or Autofocus.

I set the camera in AF have someone sit in the booth and let the camera focus then switch the camera to MF so the camera does not adjust each time. You just have to make sure the aperture setting is low enough so you have good depth of field. I've never had a problem.

Thanks Rich, will try that one. My camera was always set to AF, the problem is when the client move closer to the lens, there was an error saying can't autofocus. :) How much aperture you usually use?

If you set the custom function to move AF to the assist button the camera won't auto focus focus when it takes a photo but you can still activate AF manually by pressing the assist button. You can also focus remotely from the PC using live view using the "", ">>", ">>>" buttons or turning the mouse wheel. If you zoom the live view you can focus very accurately.

A low aperture can be confusing. You want a small aperture which = a high f/#
That confused the hell out of me when I first started in photography. It didn't make sense that small apertures had high numbers like f/11
