What could be the possible problem?

Is there enough time between the shots to allow the flast to recharge?

yeah, we have a delay of 6 seconds between shots.

I'm not sure what you mean by "AC slave flash". Do you mean that camera's built-in flash is firing but not triggering a slave flash? It could be that the flash doesn't have enough time to charge up before the next shot or perhaps the slave unit is not getting a clear enough view of the light from the trigger flash.
