I'm running DLP 2.5.5 to d/l files from a Canon 7D. I've notice the following problems when d/l via USB:

1. Thumbnail views do not work.
2. After file d/l, if I delete files that are selected in DLP, the display blinks as though updating, but continues to display the files as though they are still on the card. The display is not correct until after I hit F5 or select file, refresh from menu. After that the display is correct.

On the other hand, if I have the CF card in my cardbus reader:
1. Thumbnail views do work.
2. After file d/l, if I delete files that are selecte in DLP, the display blinks and is updated correctly.

Is the behavior described above when 7D is connected via USB cable, expected, normal? Or is it a "bug".

Thanks,
DWB

Thumbnails are only available when using a card reader. The only way DLPro could display thumbnails from a Canon camera connected via USB would be to download the whole file and then read the thumbnail data. This would work but would be far too slow to be usable.

This is a bug in the Canon SDK: after deleting files it still shows the files in the directory lising even though they are no longer there. I'm trying to find a workaround which doesn't involve refreshing everything every time a file is deleted.
I normally download my 7D images using a card reader because it is about 3x faster than downloading from the camera. I only download via USB when I'm away from home and have forgotten to take a card reader and then I usually format the card in the camera to delete the files.

Chris,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to know that it's a problem with the Canon SDK and not me. As you do, I normally use a card reader, too. I just noticed the "delete files" anomaly when doing an occasional d/l via the USB.

Also, thanks for the explanation on thumbnail viewing. Again, it's a nice function, but most of the time, I find it easier to work from a list, which is my normal mode of operation.
