In my effort to avoid using slave, I purchased a non TTL cable to synch the flash, from my G10. However, as soon as the flash shoe goes on, the menu item on the PSremote GUI greys out and is not adjustable. Gong with slave right now, but would really like to go with a hard wired solution. Is it cause my cable is not TTL? Should I fork out for the TTL?

I've only tested the G10 with a Canon flash (420EX) and it works fine. The flash on/off/power settings in PSRemote are disabled when the flash is connected to the hotshoe, but the flash exp compensation is still available and the flash fires when you take a picture.
