I used Downloader Pro after a photoshoot yesterday, and found that I had taken a wonderfully complex route around the site I was visiting.

Is there an easy way to calculate the mileage covered from this track.

I did a Google search and found various bits of info but nothing obvious or easy. Likewise i am not sure if Googe Earth will do it. I have never really used the prog for anything other than a simple view.

What I was hoping was that I could load the track data into some prog, push one button and get an answer. Any more complex than that and I can't be bothered. I have enough other stuff to learn about handling my images in CS3, that I do not want to spend time on this.

Thanks

I use software called SportTracks to log my walks each day.

Just use the "Import" function to load the gps track.

Sporttrack wont read my tracks. I have a small (and cheap) Sony GPS unit. The files are .log on the device, and downloader pro then creates htm & kml files, none of thjese work in Sporttrack.

Geosetter loads the kml file perfectly, but I can't see any way to get the distance travelled.

I had the same problem with my GPS. SportTracks as a plug-in that will import any format GPSBable supports.(just about anything)

Download the plugin at:

It's been a while, but I think you will also have to install GPS babel if you don't already have it. Very useful software for converting GPS formats.

This is all freeware.

I hope this helps you out.
