It is almost two and a half years later since my first post over this brand and now there is a new card that also supports RAW and high-speed networking.

I want to inform if there is already someone that is using this card with DSLR remote Pro and what is the good and what is the not so good using this combination.

i own the eye-fi pro 4gb card. i use it in a 50D with a cf card adapter and it works. I have read about issues with the new x2 cards in canon eos cameras. that said, the software uses wi-fi not usb. it has its own software that allows for images to be dropped into a preset folder as you shoot, but since it is not usb, i do not see how you could use the eye-fi card with dslr remote pro.

if you want go wireless and still use dslr remote pro, wireless usb is an option. there is no out of the box solution, but i was able to construct my own wireless usb tether similar to the one found here: http://petetek.blogspot.com/2009/05/50-wireless-tethering-solution.html

it works well, and since it is usb, requires capture software. dslr remote pro works well with it.

Check this out as well:

I wanted to build a tethering solution before using Pete’s method (http://petetek.blogspot.com/2009/05/50-wireless-tethering-solution.html) but could not get the Cable Unlimited adapters. I received my TruLink Wireless USB Adapter Kit yesterday and it works great with Breeze DSLRRemote for Canon. It also worked with the Canon utility. The beauty of the Canon utility is that I can manually initiate downloading the pictures from the camera when I am in range. Breeze System DSLRRemote is becoming very handy. I purchased DSLR Remote for its photo booth feature and now I can use it for wireless tethering as well.

I did not realise until yesterday that the Eye-Fi now had an 'ad hoc' version that went direct to a PC, and indeed an iPhone, without needing to go over the internet.

It is just what I want as I now do most of my shooting with a Panasonic G1 and, as yet, DSLR Remote will not receive from the G1.

I came to this forum section in the hope that DSLR R users were finding a way of working from a folder being fed by Eye-Fi. It seems not and I understand it is because the folder must be USB driven and not fed by WiFi.

I'd even use Breeze Browser but it seems it cannot autodetect a new file in the folder it is browsing. Yes I can push F5, but it is so useful to see the new shot come up automatically as happens in DSLR R.

I took a look at the other suggestions. TruLink needs mains so that is no good for me as I often work outdoors. The other Jamie item is not exactly my idea of 'cool' for a G1 and also it takes over the hotshoe that I need.

Any suggestions chums?

The latest versions of BB Pro (1.9.5 on) have this capability, provided that you tick the 'Monitor ...' option on the General tab of Preferences.
