I am in the market for a new printer.
I (like many others) am trying to print a 2x6 strip with a dye sub printer. my printer budget is $1500. I searched the forums here and elsewhere and have not been able to come up with a definite solution.
according to the Imaging Spectrum blog
http://imagingspectrum.com/blog/2009/11/choosingphotobooth/
Shinko has released drivers for the s2145 to allow it to cut at 2" instead of 4".
Has anyone tried this out? i am a little nervous about dropping 1k on a printer without knowing for sure if it will do what i need it to do!
If you have a shinko S2145 would you let me know if 2" strip printing is possible.

Thanks!

that is good to hear. the updr200 is my first choice of printer.

edit: have they officially announced it, and do you know when it will be available.

I have the Shinko and yes it does cut the strip in 2x6. Generally i am very happy with the printer and i highly recommend.

the shinko is my 2nd choice, the only thing i dont like is the cost of media is about $.05 more per 4x6 which could add up over time.
thank you for your comment anastassis, it is good to know it will do it for sure.
