View Full Version : G10 question AC adapter/auto turn on with power

Right now I have an S3 which automatically turns on when I plug in the AC adapter. This is perfect for a permanent setup I have. Was thinking about getting a G10 for my next project. Can anyone who has a G10 tell me if it automatically turns on when you turn on power to the AC adapter?

It doesn't come on automatically.

I think you will find that the point & shoot range have a toggle switch which is only operative when the camera is powered.

DSLR cameras have a non toggle switch which when left on will power the camera when power is restored.

I know of one customer who managed to get a PowerShot camera to turn on automatically by rigging up a solenoid to press the power button on the camera momentarily when the mains adaptor was switched on.
