I can't get this camera to work with Downloader Pro. I did the standard installation of the canon drivers/software disk and when i plug in the camera is being recognised. Then I picked DLPro from the applications list but DLPro doesn't see the camera being connected. Would you please give me some pointers how to set this up. Thanks.

Downloader Pro v1.6.2 works fine with my 350D. I don't have a Rebel XT but it should be identical apart from the camera model name stored in the firmware.
You need to set the camera connection mode to "PC connection" (in the second tools menu for the camera).
