sometimes mid-shooting i get an error message that reads:

"Unable to release shutter. This may be because the AF was unable to lock"

and the shutter is left open and the program freezes. i am using DSLR REMOTE PRO FOR WINDOWS

can anyone help?

Please try setting the lens to manual focus (MF). A DSLR won't take a photo if auto focus isn't able to focus and so it is better to use manual focus.

Ah!! For some reason I thought I read that it has to be AF.
