I've always used a Canon Rebel XS but want to start using a new Canon Rebel T3
I can't get DSLR Pro to connect to the new T3
I think I have all the camera settings correct: Live View disabled, Manual Focus, Manual settings for F-stop, ISO, shutter speed...
Am I missing a step or a camera setting?
Any advice?
Thank you in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

Are you using an old version of DSLR Remote Pro for Windows? Support for the Rebel T3 was added in DSLR Remote Pro for Windows v2.2.1. Please see the release history for details:

and the upgrades page for information on upgrading:

Hi Chris
I have the proper versions installed, but that wasnt the problem.
It seems camera Canon T3 and printer DS40 do not like each other.
Camera connects fine, until I put in the USB for the printer, then the camera disconnects.
Ive tried various combinations:
Connecting camera USB then printer USB
Connecting printer USB then camera USB
Connecting camera USB / doing test shots / connecting printer USB
Connecting device ports first then computer ports
Always connecting respective device to the same computer port
Finally got the camera to stay connected, but I tried so many combinations I dont remember which finally worked.
Any idea why the camera would disconnect after the printer is connected?

The only thing I can think of is it may be some type of hardware related problem. I have a DNP DS40 printer and Canon EOS 1100D (aka Rebel T3) and they work fine together. Have you tried plugging the camera and printer into separate USB ports on the computer rather than using a hub?
Some laptops don't have enough power to run USB ports properly which can cause problems particularly if the computer is running from its batteries.
One person reported weired problems caused by mains supplies when connecting studio strobes which I think was fixed by connecting everything to the same supply.
