I currently use Hotfolder Prints to eamil a composite (photos in the layout) to users and it works GREAT!! However I was wondering if there is a way for me to email them the individual photos as well?

Thanks

The email_image.exe program can only send one image at a time and so the only way you could do this would be to use a script which calls email_image.exe multiple times. It might be easier to upload the photos to your website, Facebook, Flickr or DropBox account and to include a link to this in the email with the composite layout image.

I finally got the system the way I want it, well almost. But I was wondering where I get the script to email the images. I have a touchscreen PC and I have the keyboard pop up and type in meial address, But I do not see where anyting is happening in my test runs. Any help would be great.

You need an email program which can be called from a script. One way to do this is to use Hotfolder Prints which comes an email utility called email_image.exe.

Was wondering which of these are better to be sent via email, the photos by themselves, or the prints that come fromprinter with layout already on them, if that isnpossible i think i would rather send those. Opinions please.

I recommend using Hotfolder Prints to resize the photos and logos etc. for emailing. The JPEG copy of the printed output is formatted for the printer which may result in very large files which don't display well on a computer screen e.g. a 4x4 layout landscape would look better than a double strip of 4 layout from the printer.

I want to send phtoos to both {user} and [email protected]
when I seperate them with a comma or semicolon I get an smtp error message.
what is the correct way to do this?

You can't pass multiple email addresses to email_image.exe. Instead, you need to make the command run by Hotfolder Prints call a script which invokes email_image.exe for each email address.

Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this?

I'd like to e-mail all of the photos as well.

Also, as an aside:

I'm using HotFolder Prints to email my photobooth photos.

I've set it up, and successfully sent emails using the 'test email' function.

When I run the photobooth sequence, take the photos (output to jpg+print), I get an error that says the .xml file is not found. The path it gives is in fact the correct path, and the .xml file is present in that location. What could be the reason HotFolder Prints isn't finding it?

Thanks

You may need to increase the deley before processing images setting in Hotfolder Prints. The XML file isn't written until users have finished entering their email address when the touchscreen keyboard is displayed after taking the photos. You need to allow enough time for users to enter their email address before Hotfolder Prints processes the images.

There isn't a simple way to do this. It might be better to upload the photos to a website (e.g. using dropbox) and email a link to the originals together with the composite image.
