I am interested in triggering the individual images manually rather than the automatic sequence built in. I would like to pose, shoot, re-pose shoot etc. If I have the number of shots to be 2 lets say, after I have shot the second image then I want the software to take over and print the images. I have tried using the F8 key to interrupt the sequence, but I see potential problems this way. If there is a setting that can be changed, let me know.

Thank you

from the release notes for DSLR Remote for Windows, but I believe the function is all the photobooth apps. I use Webcam PB, so I couldn't tell you what dialog it's in.

16 April 2012: v2.4

Added "clicker mode " where the photographer or users choose when to take the photos in photobooth mode

also

Clicker mode allows users or a photographer to choose when to take each photo rather than the standard operation where the software automatically takes the photos at preset intervals. When clicker mode is selected the software will wait until each photo is taken either by a photographer pressing the shutter release on the camera or by users pressing a remote release (the "clicker"). The clicker could be a wireless shutter release which plugs in to the camera's remote shutter release socket or a wireless remote (e.g. a wireless presenter) connected to the PC. The wireless remote should be set up to send Ctrl+Z.

You can do this using clicker mode in DSLR Remote Pro for Windows v2.4 or later. To use this you need to start the photobooth shooting sequence (e.g. by pressing F4) and the screen will change to the 1.jpg screen and wait for the photo to be taken. The photo can be taken by using the camera's shutter release (by pressing the shutter release button or by using a remote release connected to the camera's remote release socket) or by typing Ctrl+Z. When the picture has been taken the software will display the 2.jpg screen and wait for the next photo. When all the of the photos have been taken they will be printed automatically.

Clicker mode is only available with DSLR Remote Pro for Windows. It won't work with PSRemote and a Canon PowerShot camera because the camera's firmware disables the camera controls when it is connected to a PC. It also won't work with NKRemote and a Nikon DSLR because the camera's firmware disables the camera controls when the camera is connected to a PC and live view is active.

Thank you Lorne and Chris. Clicker mode solves my problem. Unfortunately I am using a both PS Remote and NK Remote in my two booths. What would be the work around using Hot Prints?

With PSRemote you can press F8 in fullscreen photobooth mode and the camera will take a picture. Once you've taken the required number of photos you can print them by typing Ctrl+R. It's not ideal because you get no on screen feedback as to how many pictures have been taken.
