does anyone know if this NEW camera supports tethered shooting? or is it crippled like other point and shoots?

I don't know, but my guess is that the EOS M will support tethered shooting because it is basically a mirrorless version of the Rebel T4i/EOS 650D. I will find out more at Photokina in September.
