I am preping for a event on Sunday that need s Green screen. I have done it before with not issues until now. I get the above access violation then it shuts down. I have tried my Main test system and 2 of my production systems. (I'm a computer geek by day) and the problem is the same across the board. My test system is Quad core with 16gb ram running 64bit win 7 the as are my production systems (i3 4gb mem) which are at most 3 months old. AV is Microsoft security essentials, and 2 different cameras. All drivers and Firmware is current. No way this is a hardware issue. tried on both 2.4 and 2.5. should I go back further? Please help!

Today is the day of the event and I just got off the phone with the client having to tell them that I cannot provide the service that was requested (That I initially told them I could). I'm very dissatisfied with the level of support available on this product and now its costing me my reputation and money. I work in IT and problems arise 24/7 and while I don't expect an answer 5 minutes after I put in a request but when the majority of photo booth events are on weekends and there is no weekend support is unacceptable. If you want to work a 9-5 Monday through Friday you need to have a desk job not working for your self. I have a day job and run a Photo booth rental company so I spend my nights designing photo strips, and making sure everything is working. I spend EVERY NIGHT doing this. I am now forced to look for another Photo booth application now that your product and support have been proven unreliable.

I'm sorry I don't monitor the forum at weekends.

Please can you provide more details about the problems you are having. Are you able to display the green screen settings dialog? Are you using an overlay file as well? If so, does it work if you remove the overlay file? The most likely cause of the problem is the greenscreen_background.jpg or greenscreen_overlay.png files.

Woodster,

sorry, but I disagree - the support here is superb, you usually get an answer from someone very quickly, if they know the answer.
To me, the fact that Chris is active on the forum is a total bonus and means updates to problems come quickly.
Many will have seen your question, but obviously no one could answer with the info you gave.
If you had searched, I'm sure you will have seen Chris discuss the .png and ,jpg greenscreen files, this may have answered your question, although I can't ever remember anyone having your particular error.

You should not have promised your client something you had not tested. When I get someone asking about a new service (that I believe I should be able to deliver) I tell them that I am 'pretty sure' I can deliver, but only take their depost once I have investigated and bench tested. If you look through the forums on my handle, you will see many instances where I have asked for advice and usually got it.

I can start the live view or photobooth mode with not problems I'm not using any overlays at all. I am able to hit ctrl+g and bring up the green screen dialog. when I check the box to activate greenscreen mode I get an access violation and the software closes.

I'm sorry you don't either. This is a really good product but if something comes up during an event I now know that I can't rely on support. Sorry that is a total Deal breaker for me. I would like to get this working again and appreciate any help you can give. as I've stated before I have the same issue on 3 different computers 3 different versions using 3 different cameras. It's the same error across the board.

My complaint was not with the users or even the level of support here. My complaint is with the writer of the software who does not monitor the forums or support emails on the weekends. A time when most PhotoBooth events occur. I have used this feature many times in the past with no issue so telling a client that I can do something I have done should not have been a problem. You insinuation that I ignorantly agreed to do something I have never done is a bit insulting. I also searched the forums back to 2005 and found no pertinent information to my issue. My day job is IT so I am well versed in researching and solving problems on my own. I have done so using these forums on several occasions in the past thanks to Chris, and all of you have contributed with helpful information and not cluttering the forums up with useless commentary, criticizing someones business practices or assumed lack of research.

I would normally ignore such ignorance but after spending my weekend staying up late reading the on the forums here and elsewhere. Then having to scrap it at the last minute and buy, learn, and implement a new software package hours before the event in an effort to not cancel it. Then to successfully complete the event having to use another software package all the while not knowing it it was going to work has left me exhausted and having low tolerance for ignorance so I'm not sorry for saying, "If you aren't going to post anything useful, please, resist the urge to post anything."

The only thing I can think of is there may be a problem with the greenscreen_background.jpg image in the photobooth images folder. Please can you send me a copy of the contents of your photobooth images folder togther with the settings you're using so that I can test it on my system.

No problem, no insult meant. If you had said you'd researched first I wouldn't have wasted my time giving my opinion.
