I am looking for a thermal or inkjet printer that prints in A4 size. Any assistance will be much appreciated!

Pretty much any standard inkjet will print on A4 paper.

In terms of dye-subs the closest to A4 you will get is 8" x 12", they are cost more than printers that do the normal 6" paper!

These all print that size;

DNP DS80 (pretty much same printer as DS40 just different paper size and thermal head)
Fujifilm's ASK4000
Mitsubishi CP3800DW (a rebadged DNP DS80)
