Hi, I've been using Downloader Pro with my G2 for several years with no problems. Then out of the blue today I connect the camera, it's auto-detected as usual, Downloader Pro starts but the it says "no image resource" and none of the files on the camera listed. The G2 display states "PC".

I haven't changed any settings so can anyone help please?

Thanks, James.

Could be a glitch, perhaps some minor file system corruption.

I remember, once having the same. I simply d'n'd'ed the images from the camera (as a mass storage device recognised by XP) onto my HD, then put the card back into the camera and reformatted it. You could also use XP's built-in Picture Download feature.

Although it is Nikon camera's that are said to be rather finicky when it comes to formatting cards - that is making trouble if a memory card is formatted through the computer or another camera - I found my G2 to be more of a troublemaker.

Perhaps you formatted your memory card outside the camera before your last shooting session? Or you didn't format it at all for some time? Most of the time I use DownloaderPro's automatic deletion and it works well, but from time to time I will format my cards within their respective cameras.

The only thing I can think of is it may be a driver problem. You could try uninstalling the Canon USB drivers for the G2 and then downloading and installing the latest version from Canon's web site www.powershot.com.
Some Canon cameras have a menu option for setting the communication mode (I can't remember whether the G2 has this) and this should be set to Normal or PC Connection and not PTP.
