Chris,
I'm using the latest version of BB Pro (1.3) with a Canon EOS 20D. My monitor is a LaCie electron blue IV, calibrated with a Monaco Optix XR Pro. I am reasonnably comfortable with color management, and prints I produce on my Epson R2400 are very close to what I see on screen.
I'm having some serious problems in the conversion of the RAW file when it comes to color saturation, and possibly also a bit with the color balance.
The image preview in the RAW conversion screen looks just like I want, but the converted image is much more saturated, specificaly in the red channel. It is to the point where I often need to re-convert the same image 4 or 5 times before the the converted image is to my liking. The RAW conversion settings for saturation has almost become a case of "guesswork" at this time...
This difference is visible in both BB (slide show mode) and in PS CS2. I do not really notice this difference in saturation in colors other than red/magenta/orange/pink. The images that are most affected are things like sunrise/sunsets, fall leaf colors, Caucasian skin tones, etc.
I am unable to judge whether the problem I am also sometimes seeing in color balance is due to the too-strong red channel saturation, which throws off the aparent color balance of the image, or due to some other problem.
Could you please look into this problem? I could email you screen shots of problem images or even a RAW file if requried.
