Chris would it make sense to make Format Card an automation option between Delete and Release?

I think it is the case that sometimes when you put a card in a Canon camera that has been used in another Canon camera, it can mess up the sequential numbering in the second camera even if the card has been erased but not formatted. I believe formatting in every case will avoid this problem.

Also, some folks believe that always reformatting will avoid some card corruption errors, although I've never been a subscriber to that notion myself.

p.s. Never mind... having done a search I see you've considered and rejected this option before, and I understand your reasoning. And I am going to adopt your practice of not worrying any more about the numbering, at least until I bump into a reason to start worrying about it again.
